Short Silk Screen Mission
For the past week have been interviewing for a new job, three times ( same job). This morning I found out I have the pleasure of filing out the paperwork that goes along with application. Even if it doesn’t sound as if I am, I am very happy about it all, but slightly on edge.
Last night I stretched some screens with orange mesh 109 inch count. It gives a lot of detail to anything being exposed. I also found some extender base, and ink. Matt screened Sunday night, and wanted to sharpen up the lines of the prints. I didn’t expect to stay long, it was a short session of exposing and pulling a few tests.
The base flat print became somewhat soppy. I couldn’t figure out what I was doing wrong. The lines came out well. I am used to a different type of extender base, and I think this may have been the problem. The base I’m used to working with has the same consistency as the inks, and only affects drying time and opacity. The one we used last night I think affected the consistency only. The screens were perfect, even if the ink suffered a little, it’s an easy fix.
